Hayden Weal

This week Paihia School had a New Zealander actor named Hayden Weal come to our school and talk to us about his acting life, and childhood. When he was in school he used to get into trouble and one day he got sent to the Principal's office and the Principal said what do you want to be when you grow up? He said an actor because he liked watching movies and the Principal said that it would never happen. One day Hayden was being naughty, this teacher asked him what do you want to be. He didn't want her to know, but he told he anyway, he said he wanted to be an actor. The teacher said that’s great, but he said “it’s not going to happen”. The teacher told him she was going to help him. Hayden and the teacher were reading a lot and he started being positive. When he got older he was an actor in The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit, and played in a film with Daniel Radcliffe (actor of Harry Potter). I really enjoyed his talk because he proved that you don’t have to listen to anyone and it is important to chase your dreams.

D.L.O

Last week in Te Ngahere we have been making D.L.O’s about doubling and halving. We were learning to solve complex multiplication problems by using doubling and halving. I think I did well with using doubling and halving correctly with fairly difficult and complex equations. I really struggled with explaining how and why it works but I ended up doing to the best of my ability.
