Last week on Wednesday, the year 7&8’s went to Morewa School to do Technology. The year 8’s did cooking with Whaea Dot. She told us that we  were making lasagne. We had to choose from a variety of veggies and other ingredients. We also had to have compulsory ingredients as well. We had to work in groups; my partner was Izaiah F. When we had a buddy we had to pick a spot to sit; we chose the table at the back right of the room. We had to chop veggies and bacon. After that we got some mince and added the veggies and cooked, while a pot was boiling for some pasta. When everything was cooked we had a munch witch I really enjoyed. Next time I could work better with my partner.

Catapult

In Te Ngahere we made Marshmallow catapults. Our teachers Whaea Becks and Whaea Chrissy gave us
the opportunity to work with a group. My group, Stilly and 12 . The equipment we used was 2 rubber
bands, 1 plastic teaspoon, masking tape, 12 wooden skewers, and 9 marshmallows. I really liked this and
can’t wait to do some more fun activities like this one.

Kindness

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to be kind to our self and to others. Our teacher Whaea Chrissy gave us the opportunity to work in pairs or a small group. I chose to work with Stilly. We were to go around with a pen and paper at morning tea and get as much smile and waves as we could.  We went around the whole school smiling and waving at everyone we could. The big idea was “Resilience is the ability to adjust to change, endure difficulty and rebound from setbacks”. At the end of break stilly and myself counted how much people smiled and waved back there were about 112. Knowing that we made that many kids feel safe feels pretty good.
