Pump Track
Last week we had to write about another special place, this topic was the Paihia Pump Track. We had to have three reasons or more on why the Pump Track was special and elaborate and give detail on those three ideas. I really liked this topic because I like riding my bike on the Pump Track. I struggled with elberating on my ideas because I didn't know how to explain it. I hope other people enjoy the Pump Track as much as I do. Have you ever been to the Paihia Pump Track?

Duffy Show
On Friday the Duffy show came to Paihia School. They performed a play for us. It was about these two cousins Sam and Duffy (real name Dylan and Emma-Rose) gaming. They gamed and gamed until Duffy thought he would put his deceased Nana’s glasses on and dance the dance she had made up. After that he was sucked into the tv and was stuck in a game called Magic Bricks. The only location they named was The Hall Of Mirrors. It was pretty much just him looking at himself. There were also two characters but one person playing as both their names were Puzzler and the Dismantler. They pretty much balanced the game. The aim of the game was to build and use up all the bricks, the Dismantler broke down any builds he made. Also in the game, the Puzzler broke up any words you put together. The Duffy show wasn't really aimed for the yr 7&8s but the rest of Paihia School liked it. Has the Duffy show preformed at your school?

Training
At Paihia School we have been practicing for athletics. How it works is every Thursday and Friday we do one thing then the next day we change. I am looking forward to athletics because i'll see all my old friends and try my best in every activity. My favorite activity is probably Discus because I consider myself good at it. My least favorite is long jump because I suck at it. Do you enjoy athletics?
Ngatokimatawhaorua
In Te Ngahere we have written about the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We were assigned to write about a special place in our community (the treaty grounds). We didn't just have to write about the Treaty Grounds but something special to us that is in the Treaty Grounds. I wrote about the Waka Ngatokimatawhaorua. I wrote about it because it is special, and unique. I liked this activity because the Waka means a lot to me, my whanau, and my community. Have you been to see Ngatokimatawhaorua?

Rugby World Cup 2019
In Te Ngahere we have been learning about the Rugby World Cup. We had to find all the teams competing in the Rugby World Cup, we had to find they're rugby emblems and then their rugby names (All Blacks). After we had done that we had to answer some questions about the rugby teams. I learnt that Jimmu was one of the first japan rulers in 660 B.C. I also learnt that the population of Japan is an incredible 126.8 Million or to be exact (126,860,301) people. What I found hard with this activity was finding all the countries rugby names. Do you have a favorite team playing in the Rugby World Cup?
Swim Safe
In Te Ngahere Tracy from swim safe came in to talk to us about being safe at the beach and on a boat. The five things to do when going swimming is, Tell somebody where you’re going and how long you'll be, check the conditions, never swim alone, be watched by an adult that knows how to swim, if there's a swell or rip test it by throwing a stick in it then decide if you want to swim. I've learnt about this before but this time I learnt what types of flares to take on a boat.

School performance
Today the 26th of September Thursday, the Kapa Haka Roopu are going to perform for our school. We are doing it to show our friends and teachers what we did at the Kaikohe Cultural Festival. I'm a bit nervous because parents might be here and most of my friends aren't in the Roopu. I'm also excited to show everyone what an amazing job we did at the Cultural Festival. Today i'm gonna go 260% and have fun. I'm going to make sure im in the right place in my line, and transition. If you were at Kaikohe and watched our performance how did we go?
